WhatsTea — Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 9, 2026
WhatsTea does not collect, store, or sell any personal information. This page explains exactly what does and doesn't happen when you use the app.
What we don't collect
- No account or sign-up
- No name, email address, or contact information
- No location data
- No advertising or tracking identifiers
What actually happens when you use the app
- Voice input is processed using Apple's Speech framework, governed by Apple's own privacy practices. WhatsTea does not record or store your voice.
- Your question (the name you ask or type about) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. It is not stored by WhatsTea afterward.
- A random device identifier, generated on your phone and not linked to your name or identity, is used only to apply a daily usage limit. Our server stores this solely as a number (a daily count), which is automatically deleted after about 24 hours.
Third-party services we use
- Anthropic — processes your question to generate a response
- Apple's Speech framework — processes voice input on your device
- Cloudflare — hosts our backend and briefly stores the anonymous daily usage count described above
Children's privacy
WhatsTea is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
